Sclerotherapy is a treatment carried out using the finest needle available to inject a harmless solution into the vein. The solution acts as an
'irritant' causing an inflammatory reaction in the vein, the vein then slowly atrophies (wastes away) and its appearance starts to fade.
Some minor discomfort is to be expected during treatment, but a local anaesthetic spray is used and therefore discomfort is usually only
temporary. There may be some redness around the injection sites, but this will gradually fade over a few days.
Consultation & Assessment
Before embarking on any course of treatments, a consultation and assessment is required in order that your requirements are fully discussed and
the potential outcome is explained to you.
